This brings Leda and Watt back together in a strictly “professional” capacity again, come on kids we all know how that ended last time.
Leda calls a meeting at Avery’s penthouse to let the gang know the cops are on to them and know something fishy happened with Mariel and Eris’ death. Of course this suspicion sends the already and perpetually unstable Leda into a tailspin. Naturally Leda and the crew are the main suspects based on this super creepy stalker diary Mariel kept on the whole crew before and after the fiasco in Dubai. Conveniently Mariel was killed in what was originally deemed a drowning accident but the police are now suspecting was murder. Not too long after Avery’s return the police bring Leda in for questioning. Don’t read below here if you don’t want spoilers, i’ll let you know when it’s safe. Their paths converge once again when Avery returns from England for her father’s campaign for Mayor of New York. Avery ran away to Oxford and has a new boyfriend Max, Leda was in rehab again and broke up with Watt, Watt is miserable over Leda and trying to drink his pain away, Calliope is stuck in her latest “role” and is absolutely miserable, and Rylin has been working an internship and is back with Hiral trying to forget her feelings for Cord. In the finale to the Thousandth Floor trilogy a lot has happened over the 6ish months since Mariel tried to kill Leda in Dubai. So I have been waiting for a year for the release of this book, going so far as to pre-order it to make sure I did not miss the release and I was not disappointed.
